August Update

Hello everyone!

I thought I would send everyone an update of how our Peanut is doing and growing!

First of all the nausea is finally starting to dissipate! YAY! I wake up not wanting to vomit - and though I still have some very strong food aversions that make my stomach turn - it is so much better than morning sickness! Now I am just dealing with hiccups and heartburn all the time which is a much more pleasant alternative.

New cravings this month - Bananas (I went on a kick for a few days and ate a ton of them and even made banana pudding). I have also still been eating lots of breakfast cereal (Apple Jacks, Trix, Lucky Charms, Froot Loops, and my new favorite is Cookie Crisp!) I have been dying for a sno-cone but I can only get one when I go visit mom and dad. The smell of fajitas at a Mexican restaurant is terrible to me.

Okay so anyway we went to the doctor yesterday! I lost .2 pounds so even though my weight is very clearly redistributing towards the front I haven't officially gained any weight - which I am ecstatic about! I am hoping the baby is taking it from my rear personally.! :)


A lady came in to see if she could find the baby's heartbeat. She was looking around forever and finally she found it because she didn't realize the baby was down so low. It was amazing to hear this. Of course I cried a little - it was just amazing. Its good to know that the baby is doing well. Then we went in the other room for the ultrasound. We told the doctor that we would be really excited if she could make an educated guess about the sex of the baby! She said she would try.

She found the baby way down low on my belly and was trying to get Peanut to move. Every time she said "there's the hand" the baby would move its hand and sort of wave at us it was so cute. You could see Peanut just moving around alot and it was so cute. Peanut yawned which was adorable! She was trying to get the baby to move around so she could tell if it was a boy or girl but she had a really hard time trying to get the baby at an angle where she could. In one of the ultrasound photos the baby put it's knees together and put it's hands on its knees as if trying to keep it a secret!! We were just laughing about that !

Finally the doctor said well if I had to make a guess I would say it's a ..........

Just kidding --- she really said BOY! She said "If you were my sister I would tell you to prepare for a boy" She said it wasn't 100% and we would be able to tell more next month for sure but that was her guess! So we shall see Eh?!

I am so excited. I can't believe it because everyone has been only having little girls every time I hear about babies! So my son will have lots of future girlfriends haha!


Not really a whole lot more news other than that. We are really excited and of course Matt is on top of the world about the possibility of having a son.
