Where oh Where have we been!??

Okay so sorry I haven't written on this blog like I should be! The purpose of this is to try to keep everyone in the loop with what is going on with us and I haven't done so hot of a job keeping up with it at all!

This month has truly flown by me. School is keeping me very busy- it is amazing how much I am actually starting to feel like a real dentist! I have gotten lots of cool experiences this month - a lady who needed 14 teeth out at one time (and I did it!), 2 root canals, delivering dentures, fillings --- the whole nine yards. I have been enjoying these aspects of school - but the school stuff has been definitely wearing on me. I have been pretty exhausted these last few weeks. Getting up out of bed is tough. When I get home in the evenings it is almost dark out and I just want to eat dinner and go to bed.

As my belly has grown more and more every day - I really look in the mirror every morning and can't believe it is what it is. I am so enjoying this time that my son and I are getting to bond. He has gotten so large and now what I thought before was moving a lot and kicking hard now has all new meaning. The other night we were laying on the couch and you could see my stomach moving where he was kicking. He wakes me up at night sometimes - one night distinctly I was awoken at 330 in the morning to him doing some karate moves!

My bladder is getting more unable to get through the night! I having to wake up at least once and sometimes three times to pee. It is a terrible thing to lay there awake in bed, arguing with yourself if you have to really pee bad enough to get up or if you could try to ignore it and roll over and go back to sleep. The bladder always wins!

My scrubs for school are getting smaller so I have found myself getting dressed up some days for school just because my pregnancy clothes are more comfortable than my scrubs most days. Riding in the car, and just sitting in class is really uncomfortable. I guess that is a good way to describe this pregnancy thing is just uncomfortable. However - it is for a good reason I suppose!

Last weekend we went to Dallas for a baby shower thrown by Matt's wonderful family friends (Amy, Jane, Cathie, and Sybil). The car ride up there was a blast - let me tell you - with fussy me in the front seat who can't sit still and is cranky and the dog in the back trying to climb up in the front the entire way! Catherine flew in from Chicago for the event and Shannon Ivy (my dad's cousin who I haven't gotten to see in ages and recently moved to Fort Worth) came in for the shower. The shower was beautiful. Everyone was so sweet and they said some really nice things about me that made me feel so loved. They had an awesome cake that was to die for and wonderful food! We played some fun games too! They had an awesome idea to start a library for Peanut so everyone brought a book along with their gift! We have placed them all on a bookshelf already and it is just a ton of great books that I am really looking forward to reading with my son! Some amazing women were there just to celebrate this exciting time and it was just wonderful. My mom was able to come to the shower too - which meant a lot to me. On top of that, she made me close my eyes to open her gift - and she surprised me an amazing thing. She found my bassinet that I slept in as a baby in the attic. She pulled it down and decorated it BEAUTIFULLY with brown and blue fabric and it was just gorgeous. I can't believe my son gets to sleep somewhere that I slept myself. It obviously brought out the water works in me, as did the beautiful cake when I saw it. I guess I am just a natural waterworks anyway though!

We started getting the baby's room ready. Ed and Dorette bought the crib and the changing table for us and Matt put them together. We have also started on the baby's bathroom! I will add those pictures on here so you can see how it is coming along! We have lots of new gifts from the shower to start putting the baby's room even more together and we are so excited to start that.

Since I have a long weekend this weekend with the holiday, my plan is to start working on that AND get Christmas decorations up! (I am really excited about the decorations because I have been bugging Matt for weeks to let me and he told me not until after Thanksgiving!!!) I have a Christmas CD ready to play as I decorate! YAY!

Anyway ---- hopefully this is a good update for everyone. We did go to the doctor 2 weeks ago for a checkup and everything looks great! I gained a total of 9 pounds so far at that appointment. Not too shabby! We did the glucose tolerance test to check for gestational diabetes and haven't heard any results back on that yet!

Saturday we are going to the doctor for our 4-d ultrasound --- we will get to see what the baby looks like! They are supposed to give us a DVD of it too which will just be incredible. Max is kicking me and moving around as I type right now. It is just such an amazing feeling to know that my child that I have been carrying around all this time will soon be here. My countdown clock says 74 days left... not very long at all.

I can't wait to meet him. I can't wait to hold him and just to look at him. I am gonna just fall in love and know that he is ours - just for us and that is just something I can't even wrap my brain around yet. Amazing amazing.

All our love -

Megan, Matt, and Max "Peanut" Putonti
